Mishelle is a composer, sound designer, music director and actor/musician based in Vancouver. After 5 years working professionally in Vancouver, Mishelle moved to New York where she obtained an MFA in Musical Theatre Composition at NYU’s Tisch School of the Arts. She returned to beautiful British Columbia in June, 2017 full of inspiration and ready to make more music.
Mishelle has made music with numerous professional theatre companies throughout Vancouver, including Bard on the Beach, Arts Club Theatre, Rumble Theatre, Pi Theatre, Théâtre la Seizième, Ruby Slippers, and ITSAZOO Productions.
Some professional highlights include composing and performing onstage in Lysistrata at Bard on the Beach, conducting and accompanying 12 different community choirs for The Events with Pi Theatre, and composing and performing in STATIONARY: a recession-era musical. STATIONARY has seen three productions since its inception in 2012 – the most recent including a tour to Talk Is Free Theatre in Barrie, Ontario and an award-winning run at The Cultch in Vancouver. Mishelle is a multiple Jessie Award winner and nominee. She is a sound design advisor at her alma mater, UBC's Department of Theatre and Film, from which she received a BFA in Acting in 2011.
In addition to writing music, Mishelle enjoys painting, listening to podcasts, and riding her bicycle.
